FRIO Group is the leading company in the European wine cellar market. In 2013, they decided to upgrade one of their major product range and move OEM production to China. However, they didn’t know if their design idea could be achieved, and they also had concerns about quality levels and project schedules.
At ChinaBridge, we are problem solvers, and we arranged an integrated team for this mission. We placed a Project Manager in charge of commercial negotiation and control of the development plan, and an engineer to work with factory technicians on each of the detail topics. These include function, design, structure, material, components, and artwork.
Quality is critical, and a QC expert was also assigned to this mission. He worked at site with factory production manager and workers to help identify root causes in defects and find corrective actions. At the end of the production line, a dedicated inspector was assigned the task of making cooling tests and checking final appearance to make sure each unit passed inspection before loading to the truck.
This project proved to be quite successful financially to FRIO Group, and since then, we have partnered together on 3 more similar projects.
